Weekly Report #9 10/24/17 Improvement This week was another week of improvement and advancement. As I prepared for my first interview, I realised that I needed to do a little more research on the firm that I was going to visit. I went to the website for O’Brien and looked into what projects they have done and what type of projects they were, whether it be mixed use, residential, or commercial. I looked back at my questions that I wrote at the beginning of the year and saw that they were not very detailed or personal, so after having done my research about O’Brien, I revised my questions and added a few more. I wanted to make sure that I did not ask about anything that I could easily find on the website. Next I had to review my resume and add to it. I took some of the suggestions of my interviewers at the ISM business symposium on spacing, formatting, and content (and compliments on my thick paper). From this week, I have learned that preparation is key. Preparing was very important for my interview because I recognised some of the pictures of projects in the conference room and I was able to talk to Mr. Saucedo about them. I was also able to talk about some of the things that I have learned from my research over the past weeks which made me more confident in my interviewing.
